What a Kahaani!

"Dil ka bazaar hai, thoda bizzare hai
Kolkata khwaishon armaano ka achaar hai
Aami shotti bolchi, aami shotti bolchi
Shotti shotti shotti shotti shotti bolchi.."

After what seems like a really long time, I finally watched a good, sensible Hindi movie. Yes, I'd gone for 'Kahaani' today. From the promos itself the film seemed quite different and promising. And with Vidya Balan in the lead role, I knew it's going to be a film worth watching, and so it was.
The movie begins with Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) who is seven months pregnant, coming to Kolkata from London, in search of her husband Arnab Bagchi (Indraneil Sengupta) who had come to Kolkata for an assignment, and suddenly went missing. After Vidya starts searching for Arnab anywhere and everywhere, she gets only one common answer: Arnab Bagchi does not exist. Appalled and confused, she's hell bent to find her husband, by hook or by crook. Does Arnab Bagchi actually exist? What is the real story? To find out all this, catch 'Kahaani' playing at a theatre near you.
The twist and turns in the story will keep you gripped to it till the end moment, not to mention the cardiac arrests here and there, and when the mystery finally unfolds, I'm sure anyone watching it will be shocked.
Through this movie, Vidya Balan proved it for the gazillionth time that she definitely is a different kettle of fish, who needs no male power, and can carry a film single-handedly. Great job, Vidya! I'm sure many more awards are waiting to adorn your racks.

So, if any of you haven't watched this movie yet, I advice you to go watch it as soon as possible. And I'm sure the people of Kolkata are going to love it slightly a bit more than the others. :) Never has Kolkata been portrayed so beautifully. <3
That's it for today. Do let me know how you liked this movie. Before I leave, here is something else I loved about this movie-
"
Jodi tor daak shune keu na aashe
Tobe ekla cholo re.."

Love,
Sayantani Sarkar.
