Kohli is THE Man!

What a win! I mean, WHAT.A.WIN! Phew! I'm sure every single Indian is going to remember this for a really, REALLY long time.
Whenever it comes to a match between India and Pakistan, it's always like a world war, and today was no different.
Pakistan started amazingly well by winning the toss, and electing to bat. Putting up an awesome total, they really put India under a lot of pressure, as 330 was not an easy target to chase. Indians were holding their breath, chanting prayers, wondering what's gonna be the outcome. Sachin and Gambhir began the chase, and with Gambhir getting out at the very second ball, it was definitely a bad start. Then came Kohli, and thus began an impeccable partnership. Sachin made his half century, and got out with a decent total, and Kohli and Rohit Sharma were left to save India, but by then, Kohli had made it clear that with him still in the game, India had no reason to worry. Kohli and Rohit too, made a brilliant partnership, and Kohli kept on hitting his masterstrokes, making the boundaries seem like a walk in the park, completing not only a century, but almost a double century, and left gracefully with a whopping total of 183 of just 148 balls, with 22 fours and a six! *bows down*

India was just 12 runs away from victory, and that was very easily achieved by Dhoni and Raina, and what followed was crazy celebration, cause India had achieved something that hadn't been achieved till date.
Kudos to Sachin and Rohit for some brilliant cricket, and as for Virat Kohli- you're the future of Indian Cricket! :D I'm sure this day is gonna be sealed in the history of Cricket, forever. :)
Now, let's just hope we make it to the finals. *fingers crossed*
Till then, Happy Cricketing! :) and loads of hugs and kisses to Kohli ;) :D
Loads of Love,
Sayantani Sarkar.

What a Kahaani!

"Dil ka bazaar hai, thoda bizzare hai
Kolkata khwaishon armaano ka achaar hai
Aami shotti bolchi, aami shotti bolchi
Shotti shotti shotti shotti shotti bolchi.."

After what seems like a really long time, I finally watched a good, sensible Hindi movie. Yes, I'd gone for 'Kahaani' today. From the promos itself the film seemed quite different and promising. And with Vidya Balan in the lead role, I knew it's going to be a film worth watching, and so it was.
The movie begins with Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) who is seven months pregnant, coming to Kolkata from London, in search of her husband Arnab Bagchi (Indraneil Sengupta) who had come to Kolkata for an assignment, and suddenly went missing. After Vidya starts searching for Arnab anywhere and everywhere, she gets only one common answer: Arnab Bagchi does not exist. Appalled and confused, she's hell bent to find her husband, by hook or by crook. Does Arnab Bagchi actually exist? What is the real story? To find out all this, catch 'Kahaani' playing at a theatre near you.
The twist and turns in the story will keep you gripped to it till the end moment, not to mention the cardiac arrests here and there, and when the mystery finally unfolds, I'm sure anyone watching it will be shocked.
Through this movie, Vidya Balan proved it for the gazillionth time that she definitely is a different kettle of fish, who needs no male power, and can carry a film single-handedly. Great job, Vidya! I'm sure many more awards are waiting to adorn your racks.

So, if any of you haven't watched this movie yet, I advice you to go watch it as soon as possible. And I'm sure the people of Kolkata are going to love it slightly a bit more than the others. :) Never has Kolkata been portrayed so beautifully. <3
That's it for today. Do let me know how you liked this movie. Before I leave, here is something else I loved about this movie-
"
Jodi tor daak shune keu na aashe
Tobe ekla cholo re.."

Love,
Sayantani Sarkar.

Women Who Run the World

Sure God created man before woman, but then we always make a rough draft before creating the final masterpiece.
Yes, it's Women's Day today. So, here's wishing a very Happy Women's Day to all you beautiful women out there! :)
To all those women who play multiple roles, and balance all of it so brilliantly. To every woman who is a teacher, doctor or housewife; who's strong and steady, as well as delicate and warm.

^The woman who has been my inspiration since forever; who's taught me the worth of extraordinary imagination. Thank you, J.K.Rowling, I owe you SO much! <3
And to my Mum, who's the woman of my life- Mum, you'll probably never read this, but, I love you, and you know that. :*
If we come to think of it, then we'll notice that women are never really given credit for all that they do. Whereas if it wasn't for women, then the world wouldn't exist. So, to every man out there-treat your woman right. She's a gem whose value and worth should be reciprocated. And to all you women, remember that you're the most beautiful creation of God. So, treasure your beauty, and love yourself, always! :)
Before leaving, here's a small quote that touched my heart-
"You educate a man, you educate just a man. You educate a woman, you educate a society."
And yes, I'm PROUD to be a woman. :D

Love,
Sayantani Sarkar
